Gasoline

There is no gasoline available within Lake Superior Provincial Park.

South: No gasoline available since 2016 in Montreal River Harbour; next closest gasoline service is 60 km/36 mi. south at Pancake Bay and 70 km/42 mi. south at Batchawana Bay (open 7 days a week).

North: Gasoline is available (7 days a week) at 3 gas stations north of the park in the town of Wawa.

 

Accommodations

There are no motels, hotels, lodges or private campgrounds within the park.

South: Cabins and campground at Montreal River Harbour. Pancake Bay Provincial Park 60 km/36 mi. south. Motels and private
campground at Batchawana Bay (70 km/ 42 mi. south of park).

North: Motels, B&Bs, cabins and private campground in the Wawa area.

Algoma Country (includes accommodations information north and south of the park).

Restaurants

There are no restaurants within the park.

South: There are 2 burger/fries take-outs in Montreal River Harbour (opening in late-May). The closest full-service restaurants are in Pancake/Batchawana Bay (60 km south of the park).

North: There are many full-service restaurants and 4 take-outs in the Wawa area.


Food, camping supplies, beer/wine, etc.

South: Camping supplies, beer/wine no longer available at Montreal River Harbour. They are available 60 km south in the Pancake/Batchawana Bay area.

North: Wawa (full-service grocery store; hardware/sporting goods/camping supplies stores; liquor/wine/beer:etc)

Firewood

Firewood is available for sale in the campgrounds in the park. Please do not transport firewood from another location (it is illegal to bring it into Canada without a permit).  Get the facts here.


Canoe and Kayak rentals

Canoe rentals are available at the 2 campgrounds in the park and at Mijin Lake (rent the canoe and get a key at the Red Rock park office or at the Visitor Centre)

South: Canoe rentals not available in Montreal River Harbour

North: Canoe and kayak rentals available north of the park in the Wawa area.

Canoe and kayak instruction available in Wawa.

Internet/Cell Service

A public access computer is available in the Gift Store in the Visitor Centre. Wireless internet service is no longer available in the Visitor Centre.

Cell service is available in limited areas of the park. Cell service available at the Agawa Bay and Crescent Lake campgrounds.

Cell service provider is tbaytel (partnered with Rogers). Local coverage map. Bell cell service may be available sometime in 2017 ?
